The Yuyama Troupe (遊山一座)
The Yuyama travelling troupe was started by Yuyama Kakunojou, Zagashira and Ebisu, after Kakunojou’s parents and the house itself was burned down by Hario Genba ten years ago (in what may have been the Ansei Purge).
It started out as a mere group of amateurs having to play to small audiences in minor theatres; but Ibaragi Soutetsu tagged along as a customer and caught onto the fact that the troupe's true intent behind their plays was revenge.
He offered to write scripts for the troupe, and from then on they picked up Kakashi and Shiranui, and rose in standing. Eventually they arrive at Yokohama, having narrowed down the target of their long-standing revenge thanks to Soutetsu's uncannily sharp predictions. There, they meet Akizuki Youjirou, just a "mere" wandering ex-bodyguard.
The nature of Soutetsu's scripts means that their plays act not just as entertainment, but as a discreet form of mass media. Hints about certain events, or certain political statements may be leaked through them, luring out the necessary people. It is precisely this, however, which places them in grave danger at the hands of the people they target...
